Intermittent Pumping

What is it?

Intermittent pumping is commenced at a relatively low flow rate and gradually increased to beyond the production ra te. After each stage of pumping, the pump is stopped and water is allowed to flow back down the rising main into the borehole to create turbulence. A production centrifugal pump should not be used as fine particles will damage it.
