What is it?



Guide block for Hand dug wells. The flat part is made of a 3" or 4" PVC pipe that is made flat with  heat and a wood mould. The turning point is a glass bottle, (eg a small medicine bottle) filled with cement. Holes are made with a hot pipe or self made hole drills.  The PVC is embedded in cement which can have a squere or round shape

Good Things

  • Will not corrode
  • Will not wear as friction point is over glass
  • Very efficient as friction point over glass
  • No special tools needed to create it and therefore can be manufactured and replaced easily

Bad Things

  • Will not fit down a borehole
